From Uganda With Love

Patrick Newman, winner of the Yippee Ki Yay Moviegoer Youtube contest, has called my attention to another thing that is on Youtube, which is this trailer for a low budget Ugandan action movie called WHO KILLED CAPTAIN ALEX?. I don’t think it has anything to do with WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT or WHO IS HARRY CRUMB?, but I could be wrong.

I’m not really sure what to say other than excellent use of a scissor kick and I’d like to see this thing.

  1. what…..the…..fuck…..

  2. Notice how this amateur craziness has more energy and excitement than most blockbusters.

    – and a much better trailer voice.

  3. Griff, my reaction exactly…

Love the guy who swings out on the rope shooting, only to fall over and carry on shooting.

  5. god I’m still giggling now…the helicopter destroying the skyscraper…

I too would love to see the whole thing to see how this craziness holds together.

    AAAAAAAAAGHH! ACTION! ACTION! ACTION!!!!!!

  6. Actually, haven’t seen a scissor-kick like that since Billy Blanks in King of the Kickboxers…

  7. Must. See. This. Now

  8. I thought that this is a joke? Is is actually a trailer for a REAL movie?

  9. How bout Billy Blanks, vern? Ever gonna review any of his flicks? Reading your BOB2 review reminded me of his DTV prominence in the early 90’s.

  10. Vern reviewed BACK IN ACTION, costarring Rowdy Roddy Piper.

  11. Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!

We have seen the future gentlemen, and it is old school.

Is it wrong that I laughed hysterically and still thought it was awesome?

“Auuuugh! Action! Action!” is going to be an everyday phrase for me now.

  13. Laughed my ass off! Went and showed it to other people and they laughed there ass off too! Have to see it!

  14. I love their use of CGI blood and muzzle flare effects.

Put me up as one more person that digs the trailer voice. That voice might actually get me in a theater to see the new Transformers movie. MIGHT.

  15. I’m with Cosmosmariner. “AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! Action! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! Action!”

  16. I kept watching this all day. This so awesome. They have so much fun! Not just with that silly trailer voice and the fake FX, but also how they throw themself around without fear, like the would in a “real” actionfilm. It’s just awesome.
    WAAAAH! ACTION!!!

  17. Jesus guy, have none of you felt the love for Ireland’s first homegrown martial arts epic, FATAL DEVIATION? The lead/writer/producer James Bennet needed a showreel fast, so he persuaded a bunch of locals to come together to put on a show, BE KIND REWIND style… There’s a link to the whole thing on youtube and other amusing behind the scenes stuff on the wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fatal_Deviation

  18. pass the dutchie on the left hand side

  19. this looks promising.
