This was a tough one. Already we can see that the competition will be fierce. Both BLOODFIGHT and BLOODSPORT II: THE NEXT KUMITE are solid takes on the formula. Both have some good fights, some good gimmicks, good laughs, good older mentor characters, good villains. This is gonna be a close call, but I know who the winner is.
As much as I enjoyed both, there is one that I liked better. Of the two it had the most awesome music, the craziest villain, and the cleverest way to honor the formula while also doing new things with it.
‘Cause it’s the one that has the traditional master-training-a-young-man movie only as a flashback within a movie where the old master is the protagonist. The winner is BLOODFIGHT.

I’ll be honest, I was kind of hoping you’d be ranking the movies based on the quality of their fake tournaments, and not on their qualities as art.
