The World Badass Committee is an open group of volunteer scholars and academics dedicated to the study, preservation and glorification of the films of Badass Cinema.

The BADASS 100 list was made in response to the works of the AFI, BFI and etc. who have neglected this important filmic movement in favor of "american movies" and "british movies" and "comedies" about men wearing dresses, etc.

While we support the study of such films it is our goal to focus on the works that utilize equal parts charisma, attitude, atmosphere and threatened violence to create that cinematic quality unique to the most outstanding of crime and action type pictures.

The BADASS 100 started as a list of over 300 films from many cultures and genres which committee members felt eligible for Badass status. WBC members then gave each nominated film they had seen a Badass quality rating from 1-10 (average ratings listed in parentheses).

Pictures that tied in the ratings were then ranked by total votes and by the discretion of WBC founder Vern. That's me asshole so don't be getting any funny ideas about questioning my decisions thank you very much.

This list is NOT definitive however we feel it is PRETTY fucking close I'd like to see you do better tough guy. Anyway we encourage you to discuss these films, any films you feel were excluded or any other Badass theory over there on the "Vernanda" discussion group on yahoo clubs.
