Aren't those slave studs called Seeders in the film?

I saw AMERICA 3000 a long long long (but not long enough) time ago, and I do remember a ridiculous scene where the caveman-whatever-hero finds a crumbling spelling book, and from this he is able to learn to speak and read...

America 300 is about a post-nuke stone-age society in which women have taken control and men are either savage nomads, brute laborers, or reluctant inseminators. It's up to one hunky guy and his wisecracking narrator buddy to liberate his brothers and bring the two sexes together again. So, yeah, it's your basic metaphor for male sexual panic during the rise of power feminism. Besides saying some interesting things about the sexual politics of the eighties, this movie is notable for making up its own futuristic patois. Women are called "fraus" while male slaves are called "machos." "Hot" and "cold" means "good" and "bad," respectively, while "neggie" means "no" and "woggos" means "crazy." Despite this being an exploitation cheapie from Israeli schlock merchants Golan & Golobus, purveyors of many a Chuck Norris kickfest, this semi-artsy conceit is maintained rigorously throughout the movie, to the point where you don't know what anybody's saying half the time. It's alright, though, because there are lots of explosions and weirdness to make up for it.

Sorry you didn't like this one, Vern. I really dig this movie, if only for being so over the top. Haven't seen it in a few years, but I remember enjoying the hell out of it.

The wolf-man looking character in America 3000 is actually some sort of post-apocalyptic mutant named "Aargh The Awful". Unlike your run of the mill droopy, green, irradiated mutant, Aargh's hairy wolf-like appearance makes him unique amongst post-apocalyptic mutants. Sadly, he is not featured in the movie as prominently as he is on the poster. But the movie does end with a freeze frame of Aargh holding up his post-apocalypse ghetto blaster as he jumps up into the air!!

Also, while we're talkin' Railsback, I gotta agree with Josh. Not to look down on his work in Blue Monkey or Nukie, but the one Steve Railsback performace that towers above the rest is definitely Stunt Man. That movie is amazing.

ANother one of my favorite lines in Turkey Shoot is when that big bald guard (who was Max's police boss in Mad Max 1), attacks one of the female characters (sorry haven't seen it in a while), and he says "Hello my little flower.... NOW I GET TO TASTE YOUR HONEEEYYY!!!"

Saw Turkey Shoot (yeah, it was called Escape 2000 when I rented it years back) and thought it was. . .well, fairly okay. Not great, but not complete shit. Although I will second the fact that The Stunt Man (even though certain things - BIG things - that would have been surprising at the time it came out aren't quite so much now) is a phenomenal fucking movie. Check it out if ya can, Vern -

I'll always remember Steve Railsback as the unfortunately named Nick Cave fan and Alien Abduction victim Duane Barry from the X-files. But "Lifeforce" is a close second. Zombie bush! How often do you get to see hideous dessicated zombie poon? And Patrick Stewart get kissed on the lips by a dude? In the same movie? Not often enough, that's for damn sure.
