Does anyone have access to the shooting script for this film? I'm genuinely curious as to what the ending was originally supposed to be. It's kind of a shame Kassovitz burned all his bridges, because even this butchered film, with an almost Seagal-DTV-level incoherent how-the-fuck-did-they-release-it-like-this ending, has a lot more going for it than most other Sci-Fi films the last few years.

I also liked this movie. The ending was barely sketched in but I would still like to see a sequel in which Vin's character is raising twin Jedis with all the collected knowledge of the human race stored in their brains. It would be like THE DIAPER or THE PERAMBULATOR or whatever that movie was where he was a nanny, but in the future and with telekinesis.

Yeah, just watched it and agree. Most shit movies, you kind of go "WTF" the first ten minutes (not that I'm saying the opening voice over was anything to write home about), but it was watchable, with some interesting action and characters. The production design was pretty fascinating. I mean, yeah it kind of spiralled out of control there at the end, but come on -- how many of us forget that making Manhattan a penal colony is one of the most ludicrous ideas ever?

Timothy - Of course I'm sreious. No offense bud but I'm not just gonna write "rules" or "sucks" and hope I correctly guess which one agrees with Timothy Phillips. I thought I did a pretty good job explaining in detail things that I liked and didn't like about the movie. Around here we like to be thoughtful and shit.

Phillips - Hey buddy, next time put a period in your website address instead of a comma. Who knows, maybe somebody will actually visit your joint instead of coming to a "Can't Connect" page.

Also, what are your books you're peddling? Airport novel mysteries? Porno?

I mean not that is bad or anything, just curious.

Vern, watched this thing based purely on your review, and I'm glad I did. I just can't figure out what happened at the end. It feels like the film is missing a whole reel or something. No resolution for the chief villain? And why does she have force powers? And why does it matter if either of them survive? I can't imagine that these issues where not addressed in the script. Feels almost like the director just left without filming the end and they just had the second-unit crew come in and shoot two scenes to sort of limp across the finish line. Still, glad to have the experience of seeing a movie this attentive to detail and pacing (except the end, of course).
